Consulting and advice

Flies, bait, rods, reels, fishing line, waders, transportation, if needed.

The Jemez mountain area is home to five excellent trout fishing streams. Although some areas are stocked with Rainbow trout, the most challenging to most anglers are German Browns, which are stream-born and plentiful.

The Valles Caldera National Preserve serves as the headwaters for two of these streams. Advanced reservations are required for guided trips on Valles Caldera. (see Business info and fishing)

In the winter, ice fishing on nearby lakes is a satisfying cold-weather outing.

Transportation

The Jemez mountains offer a host of trails and old roads. Most hikes produce encounters with wildlife such as elk, eagles, hawks, song birds, deer, or coyotes.

In summer, guided guests will gather and taste test mushrooms and berries. This is a tradition that harkens back generations to Dave's family in Italy.

Snowshoe equipment
Many of the same trails that can be hiked in the summer are available for snowshoeing in the winter. With snow depths ranging up to four feet, these trails provide an experience of winter's glory.
